The Enugu State Football Association, ESFA, says the 2024 edition of the State Football league which will kick start on 7th May, will witnessed 19 teams from different parts of the metropolis and Nsukka, reiterating that the competition will afford outstanding players the opportunity to seal lucrative contract deals with some elite clubs.
The Association made the statement in its office, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, in Enugu, at the weekend.
According to the organizers, some of the teams which include Enugu Angels FC, Great Achievers FC, Purple Krown FC, Young Bishop FC (Nsukka), Standard FC (Nsukka), have all been grouped in an A to D format, hinting that the opening match between Enugu Angels FC and Disdevt, will be played at Rangers International Training Pitch.
It insisted that the participating teams must provide a medical certificate or letter of undertaking signed by the chairman and coach of the club for their players before any match, warning that any player involved in any form of malpractices such as double registration would face disciplinary actions and also be banned from the rest of the matches.
Recall that Star Plus FC emerged winners of the 2021 edition of the competition by defeating Chosen FC (Emene).
