Heartland Football Club of Owerri secured a vital away point against Giant Brillars FC of Enugu at the weekend, as both sides ended Matchday seven fixture 1-1 in the 2022/23 Nigeria National League, NNL, played at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.
After last weekend slim loss in Owerri to former premier league champions, the host are looking so determined and confident of getting victory to further enhance their qualification quest in this year’s competition.

Despite the disappointment and frustration experienced last season, the Naze millionaires has shown that the issues have been settled and the team is focused on returning back to the elite division.
Both sides showed alot of intents, artistry and purpose as the encounter witnessed end-to-end attacking football in the first 45 minute.

The second stanza saw the home side introduce more attacking players as they became more incisive, daring and probing but could not muster the courage to put the ball behind net when the opportunity presents it’s self.
All efforts by Giant Brillars to secure victory in the encounter proved abortive as the visitor’s nullified every threats to see out the remaining part of the game.

Reflecting on the overall performance of the game, Head Coach, Heartland FC, Christian Obi, expressed gratitude to God and his players, noting that they had to adopt another tactical plan so as curtail the forays of their opponent.
With this result, Hearland FC remains on top of Group B4 of the NNL standings with 12 points after 6 games
