SOUTHEAST BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SETS TO DUNK OFF IN ENUGU.

All is now set for the second edition of the South East Basketball Association, SEBA, Championship tagged the “oriental classics” that will dunk off from 17th to 21st June, 2023 at the Indoor Gymnasium Sports Hall of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The 5-day competition will witness 5 states which includes Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Abia and Enugu competing for the star prize both in the male and female categories.

Meanwhile, the participating teams from the different states are expected to start arriving from Saturday while hostilities begin on Sunday.

According to the organizers, the aim of the championship is to create competition among the players from the region, adding that the platform would give exceptional players the opportunity to play in bigger clubs.

They also promised that more of such developmental programs would be hosted within the region, calling on basketball enthusiasts, sponsors and corporate bodies to invest in the game.

To this end, Team Coal City Miners and Coal City Queens of Enugu have stepped up their preparations in the last two weeks as both teams train twice a day under the watchful eyes of Coach Chiedozie Nwoye and his assistant, Olu, ahead of the championship.

The competition, which is organized by SEBA in collaboration with AFA Sports, VOE Foundation and the Enugu State Basketball Association, is the first of the five basketball series that would go through the 5 southeastern states.
