Rangers International Football Club has described the just concluded first phase of preseason at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, as a step in the right direction, hinting that the momentum will help prepare the team for the fast approaching 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

The Club disclosed that the tournament avails the Coaches and Technical Crew the opportunity to access the fitness and mental state of the players as well as the new acquisitions, while fine tuning tactical strategies going into the season

Speaking at the end of proceedings yesterday, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Club, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, is indeed impressed and satisfied with the participation of the teams, while expressing gratitude to the state government, sponsor and the relevant stakeholders for making the championship an eventful one.

On the issue of the Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ikechukwu concentration on national duties, the football administrator reaffirmed the confidence reposed in other Coaches and Technical Staff, revealing that with acquisitions of new advancement in modern football, the team will surpass any challenge this season.

Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers defeated it’s Under-19 team 2-1 in the final of the preseason tourney.

The week long tournament which was sponsored by an indigenous financial institution, Afrinvest Ltd, in collaboration with the Ministry for Youth and Sports Development and the Enugu State Football Association witnessed teams such as Great Achievers, Enugu Rangers Under-19, Onovo FC, Purple Krown FC and Ingas FC participating.
