Hostilities for the third edition of the Governor Peter Mbah Secondary School Sports has commenced today, as the participating zones and their teams successful concluded the screening and accreditation exercise.
The 3-day tournament which will take place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium complex is put together by the state government through Ministry for Youth and Sports Development in partnership with the Post Primary School Management Board, PPPSMB.

According to the organizers, the zones has exhibited high level sportsmanship and participation by the strict adherence and compliance governing the rules and regulations of the championship.
They further hinted that the primary target of putting up the tournament is not just about winning but to discover, nurture and mentor young talents who will take over from the aging once as well as give a good representation of themselves, the state and the country in any major championship.

The atmosphere around the complex was indeed beehive of activities, as sports enthusiasts, passerbys, Ministry officials as well as business people troupe in their number to catch a glimpse of the spectacle.
Tomorrow’s event will see competition in tennis, football, volleyball, athletic beginning from 9 am, just as dome of students and their games teachers are putting finishing touches ahead of their events.
