All is now set for this year’s edition of the Enugu State Grassroot Under-12 Football Developers Tournament, tagged catch them young”, scheduled to kick off on 14th April, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
The grassroot championship which will serve as platform to discover, mentor and nurture the next generation of superstars, promises to live up to expectations as teams from different parts of the metropolis jostle for the ultimate prize.
The 12-competition which is organized by the Enugu State Football Association, ESFA, will witness participating teams such as Denver, Emirate Rangers, Lionnaries, Young Stars in group A, while Purple Krown, Black Stars, Great Apostle and Enugu Angels placed in Group B.
According to the program scheduled signed by the ESFA Secretary , Francis Ugwu, which was made available to newsmen yesterday, disclosed that the opening group prelimaries will witness four games in day one .
According to the scheduled, Denver FC and Emirate will loch horns by 9 am, Rangers will be up against Lionnaries, while Purple Krown vs Black Stars will take center stage, just as the last match of the day will be between Young Star and Denver.
The program further stated the group phase which ends on Friday, 17th April, will produce four teams for the semifinal stage, with the best two advancing to the final of the competition.
