Enugu State Athletics Coach, Comrade Ephraim Ochonma yesterday returned unopposed as the Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Athletics Technical Officials (NAATO), Enugu chapter in the polls that was conducted today at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
The association which is the subset of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), is responsible for coordinating, conducting and officiating every athletics events in every state and also in primary and secondary schools.

The polls which was conducted under a free, fair, credible and condusive atmosphere was witness by its old and new members, and also supervised under the watchful eyes of an observer from the national body.
In an exclusive interview with sportszone.com.ng correspondent after his victory, the former national 400m champion is grateful for the opportunity to serve another four years after his tenure expired, stating that they are the duly recognised body that will be officiating athletics in the state.

Reacting to how the polls went, former railway athletics coach, Elder Anthony Chukwuemeka advised the executives to hold and abide by the rules and regulations of the constitution of the body, confident that with the wealth of experience of the chairman, the association would improve and take a different turn in athletics.
Other elected executives members are vice chairperson: Prof. Mrs Ngozi Ani, state secretary: Justin Agu, ass. secretary general: Emma Nnaji, state treasurer: Paschal Eyioke, state welfare officer: Uche eziokwu, ex officio: Hon. Chidi Aneke amongst others.
