CHRISTAIN CHUKWU SPEAKS ON ENUGU RANGERS PREPARATIONS AHEAD OF 2022/23 NPFL SEASON.

With the recent development concerning the League Management Company (LMC), organisers of domestic football in country, as it regards to the commencement of the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, the former captain, Green Eagles of Nigeria, Christian Chukwu (CFR) is optimistic that Enugu Rangers can over turn their lackluster performance ahead of the coming season.

He made this disclosure over the weekend at his residence, Damija, Off Nnamdi Azikiwe Road, Transekulu.

In an exclusive chat with sportszone.com.ng correspondent, the legendary football icon praised the seven-time NPFL champions for putting up an impressive performance in the just concluded season despite playing all their games away from home, and hoping that the rehabilitation works at the Stadium would be concluded in due time.

Chukwu popularly called “Chairman” hinted that the club has resumed camping for the new season and most of the players are been expected to start arriving from this week, reaffirming that recruitment exercise is ongoing at the moment.

Responding to how many players have put pen-to- paper for the new season, the gaffer further stated after due consultations with the Management, technical crew and back room staff of club, it unanimously agreed that there was need to bring in ten quality players that would be compete in all fronts.

Recall that Enugu Rangers could not qualify for any of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) competitions as a result of the fifth position finished on the 2021/22 NPFL table with 56 points after 38 games behind Rivers United, Plateau United, Remo Stars and Kwara United respectively.
