Technical Adviser, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Abdul Maikaiba has expressed confidence that his side would setup when the second stanza of the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League resumes later this month, adding that the management and players are putting finishing touches to some grey areas that was noticed during their matches.
He made this disclosue recently to newsmen after the final match of the State AIETO Cupl, played at the Rangers International Training Pitch, Liberty Estate, Independence Layout.
According to the gaffer, he admitted that cup finals are very tough, difficult and competitive because every team want to win, reiterating that his charges would go the extra mile to change the narratives during the second part of the season.
The former Akwa United experienced tactician was delighted about the overall team performance particularly the goal margin, saying that it will serve as a moral booster for the offensive and attacking players to improve on their work rate and finishing in their next game.
Also speaking, Chief Operating Officer of Interim Management Committee, IMC, Prince Davidson Owumi confirmed the date for the reumption of the concluding part of the league, calling on football enthusiast and stakeholders within and outside the state to be part of the development of the game.
Reacting to the level of officiating witnessed in the season, the football administrator noted that some referees were impressive and deserve commendation while those that influenced or marred the game were sanctioned and dealt with decisively.
In a related development, Chairman of the Enugu State Football Association, ESFA, Mr.Tony Ugwu has reaffirmed that the association would be uneviling its agenda and programs for the year, adding that the organization would be holding its congress soonest.
Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers who are placed 7th on the Nigeria Premier Football League log with 9 points after 8 games, would trade tackle with Rivers United FC on Wednesday at the Adokiye Amasiemeka Stadium in Port hatcourt in a rescheduled Match day 8 fixture of the season.
