It was indeed an evening to savor and celebrate as Iva Valley Football Club booked a spot into the main event of the 2022 Coal City Football League by defeating Asata FC 2-1 yesterday in an end-to-end attacking encounter at the ngwo park football field, uwani.

Despite starting the game with 9 players, Asata FC dictated and controlled it pace of the game, winning most of the second balls and areial duels. In the 17 minutes Asata were rewarded for their hard work from the boots of Chinonso Nwaneri, as he finished off well orchestrated build up play deep in the midfield.

The second stanza lived up to expectations as the Iva Valley side came back strongly, incisive and more menancing with the introduction of fresh legs in their set up. Chibuike Uka cancelled the deficit with less than 15 minutes to end of regulation time while Chisom Chukwu snatched a dine minute victory from a close range strike which left the Asata goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

Speaking to power sports correspondent, Ugo Okeiyi in his post analysis, Head Coach Iva Valley, Chuka Ngwo expressed delight over the outcome of game, adding that most of his players are still young and have not played in a competition of such standard.

On his part, a disappionted Head Coach of Asata FC, Ikechukwu Okezie attributed their loss to the profligacy of his strikers despite creating the better opportunities, hinting that his opponent were indeed lucky.

However, the competition which is tagged “Boolu Ogbe” for players in within and outside enugu metropolis continues tomorrow with a mouthwatering encounter as Oji River trade tackle with Sideing while on the 26th of August it will be the turn of GRA Vs Industrial.
