ENUGU RANGERS TARGETS TITLE AT PRESEASON TOURNEY IN LAGOS.

In the quest to win the maiden edition of the Nigeria Professionsl Footbsll League Pre-season Super Cup slated for Lagos, the Management and Staff of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu have set plans in motion for the team to emerge victorious when hostilities take centre stage.

After embarking on an intensive 9-day close camping in Awka, which saw the team engage clubsides from the Nigeria League One (NLO), Nigeria National League (NNL) and Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) respectively, the technical crew is confident the team will definitely live up to expectations.

In an exclusive interview with Energy FM sports correspondent, Ugo Okeiyi, yesterday after the team’s training session at the Rangers international training pitch, independence layout, the Technical Adviser of Rangers International FC, Abdul Makaiba reiterated the level of preparedness of his players, hoping they will rise up to the occasion in the tournament.

Also speaking on the teams that would be participating in the competition, Former Enyimba FC winger, Ejike Uzoenyi emphasised that names don’t play game in modern football and a good player is as good as his last game, adding that there primary target is to win the competition.

Reacting to whether the club would be prosecuting it games in Enugu in the forthcoming season, Administrative Secretary of Rangers Corporations, Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuara revealed that despite the huge investment by the state government, releasing over 80% of the funds for the rehabilitation works at the stadium, the contractor is yet to deliver.

Meanwhile, the Preseason tournament in Lagos which will feature Enyimba International, Shooting Stars Sports Club and Insurance F.C from the 6th to 9th December, 2022 will be played in a league format with the top two teams playing for the star prize of One hundred million Naira while the third and fourth-placed teams will play in the losers match.
