In many regions of the world like Europe, North Africa, West Asia, Central and South America, sports clubs with several sports departments have undergone tremendous changes and upgrades to suit the international standard, and so the members of Enugu Sports Club have been working tirelessly in the last few months to replicate what is obtainable globally.

The Executive Chairman of the Enugu Sports Club, Barr. John Henry .C. Nwosu made this disclosure over the weekend when newsmen paid him a courtsey visit during the weekend at the club office in Garden Avenue, GRA, he hinted that the club can be compared to the likes of Ikoyi Club and other clubs in the country with the latest innovations and transformation, adding that his second tenure is basically centered on completion of major projects.

Reacting to how the excos have been able to source for funds in organizing, coordinating and running the affairs of the club, the sports administrator emphasised that trust and prudence are major components for any public office holder, stating that the journey has not been easy but as a unit they have been able to achieve alot.

On what should be done to the growth of indoor games to meet competitive standard in the state, the legal luminary further advocates on the use of the club’s facilities for competitions, development and training of the state athletes, advising the state government to shun fire-brigade approach so as to get the desired objectives.

It would be recalled that the Enugu Sports Club is an elite, private Sports Club established in 1929 as a centre for relaxation and physical exercise through various outdoor and indoor games as well as a conducive atmosphere for business, intellectual and political association.
