The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Enugu Chapter has congratulated Rangers International Football Club for winning the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL title, urging the Management of the Club to improve the team ahead of next season’s competitions.

n a communiqué issued at the end of the association’s congress at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium held at the weekend, the body recounts the series of challenges it encountered in securing the association account, among others but reassured that they are working tirelessly to resolve these setbacks.

The Association also urges the Enugu State Government, especially the Ministry for Youth and Sports as a matter of importance, to place more priority on other sports outside football, reiterating that sports remains a veritable tool and platform for unification, checking youth restiveness as well as an avenue to earn a living.

Reacting to the issue of sports promotion and development in the state, the group set up a committee to organize table tennis competitions across secondary schools in the metropolis.
