Former Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has endorsed the current Enyimba international Head Coach, George Finidi, to become the next Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, hinting that he possesses all the fundamental qualities of a sound tactician.

The football administrator made this statement in a recent interview in Lagos.

According to him, working with several indigenous coaches in the past, gave him an insight of what they are capable of doing, while also admitting that the former international has undergone some of the best coaching during his playing days.

Reacting to why the local coaches earn far less than their foreign counterparts, the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA Council member, emphasized that such kinds of contract deal is dependent on the negotiations power, adding that the conditions for engagement are quite different.

Finidi is among the frontrunners for the vacant position left by Portuguese Coach, Jose Peseiro, following the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Nigeria Football Federation is expected to name a new coach for the team in no distant time.
