President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria, KFN, Silas Agara opened up concerning the prospects and aspirations of karate in the country, reaffirming  that the recent successes recorded by the sports in the last few years was due to the commitment and doggedness of the Federation.

The President who made this disclosure earlier in the week, stated that the primary focus of the federation is to administer, mentor, teach and inculcate the tenents and core values of the sports to its practitioners.

According to him, most of their athletes who are ranked among elite athletes in the World and African rankings were discovered from the grass root programs, noting that they will be working with the different coaches and hosting more programs in the various geo-political regions of the country.

He confirmed that there was an international event put together for the first time in 2022 for the special athletes, adding that the international body has mandated all its affiliates to continually encouraging and promoting its special athletes through the sport.

On the aspect of funding, the Karate boss explained that funding has really being challenging and tasking on the part of the Federation, expressing gratitude to some of their friends and well-wishers for their immense contributions and numerous support towards actualizing some their project,

The KFN has promised that all its athletes and coaches will get all the necessary backings ahead of the All African games, World Championship in Turkey scheduled at the end of the month and the Continental Championship in Texas, United States later this year.
