The Nigeria Football Federation has applauded the impact and innovations of the Interim Management Committee, IMC, on domestic football in the country, stating their programs will develop the game and also project talents from this region.
Issues concerning streaming right and sponsorship of NPFL games next season, were raised In a session held between the NFF, Interim Management Committee and its finance partner, GTI, in Lagos recently,
Speaking to reporters after the deliberations, Secretary General of the NFF, Mohammed Sanusi, stated that their aim of the organizers is to develop the game and give talents an opportunity to showcase themselves, adding that fans decided the teams they want to see in the competition.
Also Speaking, Chairman IMC, Gbenga Elegbeleye, hinted that because of their numerous impacts and programs, the league is getting recognition from sponsors, adding that before long domestic will be viable to pay players very well and attract foreign players.
On his part, Chief Operating Officer of the Interim Management Committee, IMC, Prince Davidson Owumi, noted that they are trading on the right part because what have been able to achieve, hinting that the Super Six would produce team that would give the country a good representative in next year’s CAF competitions.
Reacting to the development, Sponsor of the competition, Marketing Manager, Nelson Ine, reaffirmed that the platform they are delivering to domestic football will enhance the players’ performance so as to excel at the highest level.
In his words, 1994 AFCON winner, Mutiu Adepoju expressed gratitude to the organizers for putting up the competition, adding such programs will contribute so much to football in the country.
Meanwhile, the NPFL teams that qualified for the Super Six tournament that would are Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars and Enyimba International in Group A while Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars in Group B, and the three top teams from the competition would represent Nigeria in next season CAF competitions.
