The Nigeria Premier Football League, got a big boost through a live streaming partnership expected to earn the league over 5 million dollars yearly.

It is partnership between the NPFL Interim Management Committee, its finance partner, GTI and Proper Sports Africa which will from next season stream NPFL games live to the world.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Lagos recently, Propel Sports’ Basil Kabbani said the NPFL live powered by his outfit and GTI will commence live stream of games on a dedicated Over-The-Top, OTT, platform, known as NPFL live, on a platform that would be communicated to sports lovers and enthusiasts soon.

He stated that the project was enabled by the world most advanced Artificial Intelligence, AI, technology, adding that the NPFL would be the first league in Africa to deploy the technology.

Also Speaking, Chairman IMC, Gbenga Elegbeleye hinted that their primary target is players welfare and upgrade, stating the committee is working towards making every player earn at least one million naira, thereby attracting foreign players to the league.

Reacting to the development, 1994 AFCON winner and Olympic medalist, Daniel Amokachi expressed satisfaction of the development of domestic football in the country, emphasizing on the market and business value of the game.

On his part, Former Maccabi Haifa and Portsmouth FC, Striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni reaffirmed that the new innovation will boost the league and create more awareness for the country’s football, adding that the clubs can compete with their counterparts in different parts of the continent

Meanwhile, the NPFL teams that qualified for the Super Six tournament that would determine the winner of the 2022/23 league season are Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars and Enyimba International in Group A while Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars in Group B.
