One of the benchmarks in sports that is always used to ascertain the level of performance or impact of any athlete or team is achievements, and so the Head Coach of strikers football club (Abakpa), Emmanuel Chiawa has hinted concerning the aspiration and prospect of his side in the 2022 Enugu State Football League.
This year’s edition of the State league would witness 18 teams such as Inter FC, Miserere, oji river angels, golden shooters, stallion FC amongst others within and outside the metropolis go head-to-head for the trophy.

Speaking with newsmen at the weekend after his side’s emphatic 4-1 victory over solid beacon fc (coal camp) at rangers international training pitch, independence layout, the gaffer expresses delight about his team’s performance because they played to instructions, hinting that the four goals they scored will definitely increase their confidence and quest for the title.
The first 45 mins ended in a stalemate as solid beacon fc made the first impact in the matchday 3 of the competition, from buchukwu duru’s finish which put his side ahead from close range in the 2nd min before Emmanuel Nweke’s header restored parity for the abakpa team on 16th min.

Meanwhile, in the first game of Group C that was played earlier in the day, disdevt afrik (Independence Layout) lost 1-2 to flying angels (uwani). On Wednesday 29th June, fc Inter would square up against Oji Rivers at 10a.m, fc miserere takes on enugu angels by 12p.m and the last match of day would be between solid beacon against disdevt afrik.
