Team Enugu, scintillating and awesome showing  at this year’s edition National Para Game in Abuja, remains the talking points for many sports enthusiasts across the country, just as the contingents showed class and determination in their various events.

The 10-day multi sports fiesta which will serve as a platform to discover, nurture and groom the next generation of athletes, witnessed some.records beer broken even as some exceptional athletes wrote their names in gold and setting new national records.

At the end of day two proceedings, Team Enugu continues to impress, extending it’s early lead by securing 6 more gold medals  in Para Athletics , Para Table Tennis, Para  Swimming,, Para  Canoeing and wheel chair basketball,  bringing its total medals haul to 17 medals comprising of 22 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.

With this results the state tops the medal chart, ahead of states like Delta, Edo, Rivers, Lagos, Bayelsa among others, with the contingents  more determined to continue winning more medals in the competition.

The Ministry for Youth and Sports Development, has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the contingents are the 2026 Para Games, saying that the present administration is more intentional and committed to transforming the sports ecosystem in the state.

The Ministry concluded that the athletes are living up to expectations, expressing optimism that they can win the championship.
