Ex internatiinal and Cordinator, Enugu State Boxing Talent Hunt, Mr. Ikechukwu Okoronkwo has expressed confidence over the level of talented boxers in the state, emphasising that with proper organisation and planning the state can produce world beaters.

Speaking to newmen at the weekend during the grande final and award presentations of outstanding boxers at the just concluded talent hunt at the Sports Council, along MSP, Independence Layout.

According to him, the project was very tasking and heculian as most of the boxers were discovered mainly from schools within the 17 local government areas of the state, hiinting that their efforts have attracted the interest of the Federal Government.

Also Speaking, Coach of the Enugu State Boxing Association, ESBA, Blaise Udeh reiterates his optimism over the products from the program, adding that with the backings from the state and cooperate bodies the boxers can compete at the highest level.

On his part, a boxer from the talent hunt program, Chinaza Okoronkwo shared his experience on the sport, the competition and how it has shapen his focus.

As part of the activities to climax the event, cash presentation of #10,000 were made to four outstanding boxers namely Chinaza Okoronkwo, Zoe Okoronkwo, Israel Ogbodo and Ngwu Chinagorom (female) because of their performaces at the trials for the Under-18 World Boxing Youth Championship that was held in Lagos recently.

Meanwhile, the boxers would be travelling soonest as their international passports are still undergoing process at the Nigeria Immigration Service.
