The National Sports Commission, NSC, has reaffirmed its determination to sprint sensation, Favour Ofili, following the decision by World Athletics to deny her request for a transfer of allegiance.
The Commission recognizes the challenges athletes encounter in making career decisions, while reiterating its commitment to fostering a supportive and enabling environment where talents and sports personalities like Ofili can thrive at the any international outing.
Responding to questions from newsmen today in Abuja, the Director General of the NSC, Honorable Bukola Olopade, emphasized that the country remains fully supportive of her and is eager to welcome her back into the national team fold.
The DG further underscored the significance of sustained collaboration with sports federations and key stakeholders to ensure that the country’s athletes receive the resources, welfare and institutional support needed to excel at major championships.
