Organizers of the Enugu City International Marathon, Nilayo Sports Management, has concluded plans and arrangements for a hitch free second edition of the event, scheduled to hold on the Saturday, 29th August, 2026.
The firm disclosed that event which is expected to feature participation in the 42 kilometer race and the 10 kilometre for sports enthusiasts, families and athletes, will witness cash and consolation prizes from for outstanding performances both in the male and female categories.
Speaking with newsmen today, the organizers hinted that the race routes were specifically designed to showcase the beauty the metropolis possess to the globe, thereby merging competition, tourism, transportation and accomodations, as well as giving participants and visitors a feel of what to expect iin culture, hospitality and history.
Nilayo Sports Management who is also the organizer of the Lagos City International Marathon, hinted that their online portal and registration have continued to witnessed a massive number from across the country and beyond in the past few days, as more athletes are requesting for forms and applications.
Meanwhile, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has expressed readiness to participate in this year’s event, ultimately becoming the face of toad races in the country.
Governor Mbah who is a lover and advocate for sports, youth engagement and developmental programs have continued to record unprecedented records in almost every spheres of the state economy in the last three years.
