The Enugu State Football Association, ESFA, has commended the healthy relationship and synergy existing among the current board members, saying that mutual respect, tenents and the primary objectives remains their priority.
The Association further reaffirmed that it will continually putting out grassroot programs and activities that will unearth, nurture and mentor the next generation of players, while appealing to the relevant authorities and cooperate bodies for sponsorship.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the 2026 annual general congress, held in Enugu, today, the Chairman of ESFA, Barrister Tony Ugwu, expressed deep appreciation to the Ministry for Youth and Sports Development for the understanding, support and passion in developing the game.
Also Speaking, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Enugu Rangers FC, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, rechoed the feat achieved by the Association in the past one year, saying that it is now time to project into the coming future.
In his word, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, officially announced that the Association is the most active and vibrant organization, reiterating that their support cuts across all the sports.
The event which witnessed the gathering of football stakeholders and enthusiasts include club administrators, coaches, referees, player’s union, medical personnel, from the 17 local government council of the state, converged to deliberate on the best global practices obtainable in the world of football.
The stakeholders also admitted that the success of grassroot and domestic football, demonstrates that the country possesses abundant talents.
