Organizers of the second edition of the Enugu City International Marathon has officially announced activities outlined for this year’s event, saying that athletes and participants are expected to experience a week-long buildup of sports, music, wellness and business showcases ahead of race day.
Enugu State Government through the Ministry for Youth and Sports Development in collaboration with Nilayo Sports Management, also disclosed that to round off the pre-race activities, there would be a World Press Conference, scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2026
According to them, the conference will bring together organizers, government officials, elite athletes and sponsors to unveil final race details, security arrangements and the full prize structure.
They also stated that security, medical, hydration and traffic management plans have all been finalized to ensure a safe and world-class experience for athletes and spectators, just as registration remains open.
In a similar development, over 3,000 athletes will be competing at the event on Saturday, 29th August, even as the competition continues to draw massive interest from elite runners, grassroots athletes and sports enthusiasts across the country, Africa and the diaspora.
