Enugu State Government has reaffirmed its commitment towards the upgrade and welfare of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members, with the distribution of 550 high-quality mattress to the permanent orientation camp in Awgu
The government further hinted that the distribution exercise which forms part of the first1000 mattresses to be disbursed as earlier approved, will enhance the accommodation situation in the camp.
The arrival of the mattresses was greeted with excitement and appreciation by the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members, with many expressing immense satisfaction at the significant improvement in their living conditions.
Receiving the mattresses on behalf of the corps member, the NYSC Enugu State Coordinator, Mrs. Oluwakemi Awolola, who thanked the present administration for the gesture, stated that such act will give corps members a sense of belonging.
The Coordinator also noted that the intervention would greatly enhance the comfort and well-being of corps members during the orientation course and reflects the state government’s strong partnership with the N YSC
The gesture further demonstrates Governor Mbah’s dedication to youth development and his administration’s resolve to provide a conducive environment for corps members serving in the State.
