He made this disclosure over the weekend at the closing ceremony of the 26th edition of Black Belt College Workshop and Championship (BBCW) tagged Karate for Peace, at the indoor gynasium hall of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

In an exclusive interview with sportszone.com.ng correspondent, Ugo Okeiyi, the karate administrator hinted that the grande finale was designed specially for black belt holders in karate to upgrade their knowledge and skills in latest development of the game and for competition, stating that the global coronavirus pandermic stalled the program for sometime.

Also Speaking, Technical Director, Nigeria Karate Association, Davies Jegede further hinted that finance and adpoton of technical standard for karatekers and it’s practioners has been a major constraint, advocating for more workshop and programs within the geopolitical zones in the country.

On his part, the Coach of the Enugu State Karate Association, Sensi Christopher Akpu lamented over the poor conditions and negligence of sporting activities from the state government, reaffirming that his passion for the combat sport has been the major driving force.

Responding to what the experience is like from a competition that is been hosted for the first time in the south east, 4th degree belt holder, Ogene Ifeanyi applauded the host for their reception and organisation, hoping that the next edition would be bigger and better.

Meanwhile, Team Enugu emerged overall winner in the Kata, Kihon Kumite Category with 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze while Bayelsa and Anambra came second and third with 1 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze and 1 gold 0 silver 0 bronze medals respectively.

However, the 10 states that participated in the 4-day competition are Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Delta, Bayelsa, Lagos, Kaduna, Cross River, Akwa Ibom  and Federal Capital T.erritory.
