All is now set for the end of the year Ozobz elite basketball Invitational tournament tagged “championing the youth through sports, education and opportunity” , scheduled to dunk off at the Indoor Sports Multipurpose Gynassium Sports Hall of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, from today till the 19th December, 2025.

The grassroot tournament which will serve as platform to discover and nurture the next generation of players, promises to live up to it’s billing as 8 male and 6 females teams across the country will trade tackle to claim the ultimate prize.

The 3-day basketball fiesta which is powered by Anthony Ozubuekwe Foundation in collaboration with the Enugu State Ministry for Youth and Sports Development and Enugu State Basketball Association, will definitely experience some of the finest, amazing and scintillating basketball skills.

According to the organizers, the program is structured in a way to galvanize ithe young people in the society away from any vice and criminal tendencies, as well as impacting in them through sports and education.

They also revealed that the platform will avail the coaches and team management the first hand opportunity to access the mental state and readiness of the players, just as the event provide the atmosphere the players synergize and bond with their counterparts.

They hinted that the competition which be played in a round robin format, will see the winner in the male category cart away the whooping sum of 2 million naira and a giant trophy, while the runner up receives the 1.5 million.

In the female category, the winner smile home with the star prize of 1.5 million naira, and second best team get 750, 000 naira.
