As part of the ways to clamp down on football violence, hooliganism or unruly crowd behavior at match venues, management of the Coal City Football League tagged “boolu ogbe” over the weekend have officially received an apology letter from one of the participating teams, Coal Camp FC in last year’s competition.

In the letter which was dated, 17th August 2022, signed and written by the Secretary of the Club, Opene Nonso stated that they express their deep sincere apologies to organisers for their inappropriate actions during last year’s edition of the competition in their game against Uwani FC.

He further added that the management of the club have taken precautionary and disciplinary measures in avoidance of future reference or occurrence, promising that they will continue to support the growth of the game.

However, the third edition of the Coal City Football League will kick-off on September 18th, at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. Eight quarterfinal list from last year’s edition includes: Achara Layout, Ngwo, Abakpa, Emene, Gariki, Uwani, Coal Camp, Agbani Road and the eight teams from the just concluded playoffs would do battle for the ultimate prize.
