The Enugu State Taekwondo Association has described the newly inaugurated members as passionate, vibrant and articulated, reaffirming the Association’s dedication and enthusiasm towards the development and growth of the sport in the state,
The Association further hinted that aside competition, winning medals and talent discovery, the organization is saddled with responsibility of mentoring promoting healthy living, organizing adult and private coaching classes as well as incurcating the tenets and principles of the sports.
Chairman of the Association, Jonathan Nnaji represented by the Vice Chairman, Barrister Victor Okwulehe, made the remarks shortly after a brief inauguration ceremony, held at State Secretariat, Enugu, yesterday.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman expressed gratitude to the Commissioner and the Ministry for the opportunity granted the members of the board to serve, promising that the organization will deliver on its mandate.
Speaking earlier, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development’, Barrister Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu represented by the Director of Coaching in the Ministry, Ephraim Ochonma, stressed on the importance of passion and commitment ,while urging the members not to relent in their efforts in reposition the sport.
In his vote of thanks, Secretary of the Association, Grandmaster Dennis Ani, appealed to the Ministry for support, in the provision of equipment and mat especially for training, just as he suggested rewards and motivation systems to encourage and inspire athletes performance.
To this end, the Association has CSP Ebere Amarizu (Patron), Professor Agozie Eneh (Member) and eleven other members.
