The Enugu State Table Tennis Association, ESTTA, has concluded plans and arrangements for the 2026 Vacation Table Tennis Clinic for public and private primary schools as well as secondary schools across the state.
The program which is supported by the Enugu Ministry for Youth and Sports Development and the Enugu State Post Primary School Management Board, PPSMB, will witness students within ages of 7 to 18 years participate in the during the long holiday vacation.
A letter signed by the Chairman of the ESTTA, Dr. Hyacinth Onah, during the weekend, the program was designed to discover, nurture and mentor the next generation of players, improve technical and tactical playing skills.
The letter further hinted that the clinic will promote discipline, physical fitness, leadership, healthy lifestyle, while engaging the children productively during the holidays.
It also urged parents, guardians, school proprietors, head teachers; principals and sports coordinators to utilize the opportunity to get the children, wards, pupils and students actively involved this holiday period.
On his part, International Certified Table Tennis Coach, Ugwudo Christopher, who will oversee the program, admitted the significance of such program, saying that the platform would afford the children the atmosphere to compete with their contemporaries and synergize.
The letter concluded by stating that training days would commence from 9am to 2pm, Monday to Saturday at the Enugu State Sports Council, throughout the month of August, 2026.
