South East Coordinator, Federation of the Youth Soccer Clubs (FEYSOC), Uchenna Robert has revealed that 49 teams would be participating in the 2022 edition of the football competition, adding that the championship which is comprised of teams from south east, south south region would be staged in two venues, Ngwo Park Football Field, Uwani and Institute of Management and Technology Football Field, Independence Layout.

Sportszone.com.ng correspondent, who monitored the activities at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium complex yesterday noted that the participating teams were subjected to a through screening exercise that was conducted by the Enugu State Football Association (ESFA).

He hinted that the competition which would kick-start from today would see 12 teams in the Under 13, 17 teams in the Under 16 while the Under 18 are made up of 20 teams.

Robert who is popularly called Lofty, further reaffirmed that the 7-day championship would be unique and massive as it will afford exceptional players the avenue to be selected for lucrative football contracts both in local and foreign clubs.

Reacting to the expectations in this year’s competition, Secretary Enugu State Football Association (ENSFA), Mr. Francis Ugwu admonishes the participating teams to always abide by the rules and regulations of the game, mandating the organisers to ensure the availability of medical personnels at the different match venue.

In his words, Coach, SuperStar Football Academy (Anambra), Uchenna Ugochukwu thanked the organisers for conducting a free and fair screening exercise, reiterating that his teams are well prepared and would win the championship.
