Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt has unveiled former International, Finidi George as the new Technical Manager.
The unveiling ceremony which took place at the club’s secretariat in Port Harcourt yesterday, witnessed some of the management, players and football stakeholders in the state present to grace the occasion.
Speaking to media shortly after the ceremony, the former Enyimba gaffer who masterminded their title success in the 2022/23 season, hinted that it is a new chapter for him and returning to where he started his career as a player and now as a coach means a lot, adding that getting the right results is a collective .effort.
According the club, the tactician has demonstrated his ability to lead teams to success, and they are confident that he will bring his expertise and passion to the club.
Former Real Betis of Spain winger resigned as head coach of the Super Eagles in June after managing only two competitive games as the head coach.
Popularly called “the Pride of Rivers”, the club finished in disappointing eighth position in the NPFL last season.
